LORI BLOG: My Month

Wow, has it been a long time since I made Mommy update or what?! I've been up to a ton of stuff! I sure hope I can remember it all.

Let's see... I've been eating. Solid foods. I don't like turkey at all. It makes me gag. Mommy told me that she told one of her veggie-tair-ree-ann friends about that and that she cheered. I hope Mommy's friend doesn't get mad that I like Chicken and Apples now! I'm not a huge fan of Butternut Squash or of Sweet Peas but I LOVE pears and Peaches and Apples... oh my, that's all the sweet stuff isn't it? ...ohwell!!

I had my doctor's appointment on Saturday. I'm 16 and a half pounds now, just under double my birth weight. The doctor was very happy about that, and said that I was doing a good job. and that I could eat almost anything I wanted, minus the no-no foods that I can't have until I'm one. Oh well. But my Grampie Leo was happy to hear.. or surprised to hear.. that I'm a perfect Average baby. I'm in the 50th percentile on height and weight for my age. Weird, huh? Everyone, even Mommy, thought I was going to be short or tall, but it looks like I'm right in the middle. Literally.

I have a video of my in the bath again, which Daddy won't let me post, but it's my first bath-time splashing. It was loads of fun! I had just eaten my dinner and was wearing half of it, as usual, and in they put me in my tub. Well, Gramma had been trying to show me how to splash and I was watching and learning, and trying to figure it out. And I finally did! Water EVERYWHERE! I got it on my face, on my hair, on my Daddy! On my Daddy's hair too! He was almost as wet as I was when we were done with bath time. And now, I eat my dinner as best as I can and try my bestest to get it ALL over me so that I can have my bath time. I get so excited when they start to run the water that I just can't sit still! I start laughing and jumping and splashing, even though there's no water yet for me to splash with.

Oh! And the best thing was this weekend!! As I mentioned in Mommy's Monterrey post, I'm almost crawling. Well, I am crawling like an army baby, all on my tummy, but i'm not crawling like a big baby girl yet, on just my hands and knees. No, I'd much rather jumpie bounce upa nd down. Well, Mommy mentioned it to her Mama, Grammie Tere and the three of us went out on Sunday to Target. I think it's french for "OMG! Stuff!". We looked at cloths and shoes and... oh wait, that was another store. Grammie bought me more nighties and Mommy got me more hairbows and shoes. My favorites are my new white ballerina slippers! I have to show Auntie Lene!! I've got a mini that it goes great with! Anyway, at Target, we GOT MY...

A JUMPER!!!!!

OMG!!! It is SO awesome!! It has tons of things that hang for me to grab at and a mirror and a frog that spins and a sun to chew on and a keyboard to bang on and best of all I can jump in it!! OMG! It's so much fun i never want to get out of it! I wanna jump TO THE MOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But all the wonderful things aside, there is one thing that's making me a very unhappy baby: I have an ear infection. It's horrible! I have fevers, and my ears hurt, and while the medicine tastes yummy it gave me the runnie runs and now I have to stay home from school because of it. Poopie, litterally. The good thing that I'm looking forward to is that staying home from school means that I get to spend the whole day with my Daddy. Just him and me! If only I didn't feel so icky! (Not that anyone can really tell, that is. I don't like letting on that I don't feel good cause then Mommy makes me go to sleep. I hate sleeping! I always feel like I'm missing all the fun stuff when I'm sleeping! Why can't I just stay awake all that time?!
