I am against Same Sex Marriage

My feelings have nothing to do with gay, lesbian, etc etc etc - It has to do with corporations.

Earlier this week, the Supreme Court ruled that disallowing corporations the ability to freely spend on political campaigns went against the corporation’s First Amendment Right to Free Speech.  Corporations are being given Free Speech, as a person, because legally, they ARE people.  People have gender. Therefore, corporations have gender.  And if corporations have gender, and the right to free speech, they also have the right to marriage, and if same sex marriage is legalized corporations could also marry, thereby bypassing any anti-merger laws, no?

It’s been an active semester so far!  Full load of classes, and two classes worth of TAing. I’m excited and bummed all at once.  It’s been really great.

It’s Potty Time!

The best thing to hear at 8:30pm: “Potty, Mommy! Potty!”

Bug was frantically climbing out of bed as I sat up asking, “You need to go potty?”

There was this note of desperation in her voice as she replied: “Yeah!”

So off we went, to the big girl potty, hurrying up on running feet. We lifted the lid, put the pink toddler potty set in place, pulled down britches, and sat.  A moment later and tinkle tinkle tinkle.

She’s such a big girl now! She’s recognizing when she needs to go, alerting us to the need, then holding it until we can get to the potty. She wipes and flushes too.  If only I could break her of the habit of trying to stick her face in the bowl to look at the tinkle as it goes down the drain…..
